Artwork image scaling will be left to our interpretation if you send odd size files, unless you specifically email us notes to print@pixel2print.co.uk including your order number.

We can print directly from Jpeg Files & PDF ( PDF files must have fonts converted to curves / lines ). Our printers use CMYK format but accept RGB profiles. Please be aware that colours may vary during conversion from RGB to CMYK.

Before sending us your artwork, please note that a photograph or other pixel-based image needs a resolution of just 72 dpi (dots per inch) to display correctly on screen. However, our high resolution printing process requires images of around 300 dpi (although for large format posters – A2 size and above – images of 200dpi are usually adequate). Anything less may print with a pixelated ‘jaggy’ look. Please check the resolution of your images carefully… just because they look good on screen doesn’t mean they’ll print correctly!

Please Note: File sizes should not exceed 100MB per file.

Bleed and Safe Margins

If you’re good at creating artwork and are comfortable adding 5mm bleed then great. If all this sounds like a foreign language then you might be better off finding a talented designer who will handle this for you. All we ask is that you keep all important elements of your design at least 5mm away from the edge of your artwork (we call this our “safe margin”). Although we use state-of-the-art equipment, some movement is inherent within all printing processes. If important elements of your design are placed too close to the edge of the paper, not only will it look unprofessional, but there’s a chance they may get trimmed off. So we ask that you place all text and other vital elements of your design inside the 5mm safe margin. That doesn’t mean you can’t extend a background image or colour to the very edge of your artwork. That’s fine of course. But please don’t put your contact details along the very edge of the sheet. We’d hate your phone number to end up on our cutting room floor. Speaking of your background image or colour please make sure this extends a further 5mm past the finished cut size of your print, this will avoid unwanted white strips on the edge of your prints.

If Bleeds still sounds a bit scary just pop on your search browser and check out the various examples that will show you what you need to know to get the very best from your design when printed.
